Welcome to Wallaroo Primary School
Situated in a beautiful bay in a rural region, Wallaroo Primary School is proud of its 130-year history and its close links to the local community. The school's core values, as set by the whole school community, are respect, care, pride, persistence, learning, teamwork and success. The school has a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, and student wellbeing. Support is offered for learning and wellbeing through programs that include our Reading Recovery teacher, primary school counsellor, Learning Assistance Program (LAP), literacy intervention programs and in-class ancillary staff.
The students are positively encouraged to be involved in decision-making processes about aspects of the curriculum and school life. This is done through class meetings, Student Representative Council (SRC) and student support team. The SRC is linked with the management team and our governing council. The school provides Active After School and Out of School Hours Care programs for local families. We are affiliated with the local Northern Yorke Peninsula SAPSASA program that provides sporting opportunities in cricket, tennis, basketball, football, athletics, hockey, swimming and cross country.
